In 2016, RMS Traders stood at a generational crossroads. Founded in 1984 and built into a reputable name in Hoppers Crossing, the business was transitioning leadership from founder to son. The objective was clear but complex: maintain the family legacy, built over decades, while modernising the business for the digital time.
This wasn’t just a handover. It was a reinvention of how the business operated, marketed and scaled.
Today, RMS Traders has evolved from a local supplier into a recognised category leader. The business has tripled its warehousing capacity, opened premium showrooms across Melbourne and Geelong, achieved Climate Positive certification, and built a digital presence that drives consistent growth.

Growth timeline
1984: RMS Traders established.
2016: Our partnership begins, focusing on improving online visibility.
2018: Identified the key opportunity to drive direct online sales, reducing reliance on third-party platforms like eBay, then migrated to WordPress and launched RMS Traders’ first online store
2019: Introduced ‘Samples onDemand’, digitising the showroom experience and promoting the ‘sale magnet’ that enabled customers to order samples online. A major lead driver that continues to perform today.
2020: Doubled down on our digital marketing efforts and successfully weathered the economic impacts of COVID.
2021: Launched the first annual product specification book, designed for B2B clients. It was used both in print and as an online lead magnet.
Opening of the Richmond showroom.
2022: Brand and logo refresh to position RMS Traders as a premium supplier.
Opening of the Geelong Showroom
2023: Developed and launched a new custom website with an improved shopping experience alongside hosting and security upgrades to support increased traffic.
2024: The Geelong showroom relocated to Newtown and expanded the headquarters.
2025: Migrated to primary domain rmstraders.com.au.
Opened the slab warehouse and showroom.
2026: Future expansion plans underway.
